Pink Arzilla: women’s football club

The idea of a women’s football club at Arzilla Calcio was born in 2014, which was a year of meetings and gatherings to outline the project guidelines and train coaches and technicians.

In 2015, the Pink Arzilla format took off with the first gatherings for girls from all over the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, ready to pursue the dream of football.

In 2016 there were the first Girls’ Football Open Days, events open to all girls and parents interested in understanding and learning about pink football.

In 2017 Arzilla Calcio confirmed the choice of mixed team training with the Mixed Team method, making it the only club in the province to have activated such a project.

The rest is history. As well as achieving important results, the Pink Arzilla girls have been a real training ground for the Raffa Manieri Academy. We have faced new situations and solved them by relying on our knowledge and skills, allowing the coaches and athletes to grow every day, the Pink Arzilla to evolve and the project to expand and spread.

Mission

The Pink Arzilla, as it was for the Raffa Manieri Academy, was born from the desire to give a dream to little girls who want to play football. I have experienced it first-hand on my skin and I have seen it in the eyes of so many little girls I have seen kicking a ball over the years. I found my enthusiasm, my passion, my desire. And I felt almost obliged to do something for them, strengthened by my experience and all that I have learnt in my long career.

It was from this thought that the Pink Arzilla took shape, a project that from the outset had the idea of making a contribution to the growth of women’s football and the aim of breaking down various obstacles, first and foremost cultural and structural barriers.

Plato claimed that “you can find out more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation“. What lit the spark was the desire to get to know oneself through the pleasure of sport, both in one’s limits and in one’s potential. And so we started with the Pink Arzilla, the first step to the birth of the Raffa Manieri Academy.
